The story of the woodcutter and the strange pot
A children's story inspired by Palestinian folklore. The story takes place in a Palestinian village, told by two simple characters: the woodcutter and his neighbor, Umm Salim, and a fictional character, the well genie.
The story aims to reinforce the concept of preserving trust and performing it well, and to highlight the consequences of those who attempt to betray it. It addresses this issue in an educational manner that ultimately encourages people to do good by providing food to those in need, whether the poor or others.
The end of the story refers to a real scene, which is the Khalil al-Rahman Hospice, where food is prepared daily with donations from benefactors to be distributed to the needy who come to the hospice to receive their share of food.
