Al-Bawakir is a collection of articles written by Ali al-Tantawi, and he considered them the first of his articles, i.e. the oldest and best. Tantawi wrote these articles during the days of the French Mandate in Syria, when he was twenty years old, and his grandson extracted them from old magazines and newspapers to collect them for us in this book.
