A drop fell from a cloud and found itself alone, without any friends! So it started asking the same question to everyone it encountered: What month is it in?
Parent and Teacher Guide
The story introduces the child to the months of the year: their names and descriptions through a simple dialogue that includes pleasant rhyming sentences. The dialogue is interspersed with popular proverbs about each month. The story begins when a single drop of water falls to the ground and does not know which month it is in, so it asks everyone it meets the same question: Which month am I in? It starts with the swallow, then the sun, then the cat, then the ant, then the earthworm, then the leaf. But no one gives it a complete answer and they suffice with mentioning a popular proverb about that month, until more drops fall and the single drop tells the drop that it is in September, and its edge is wet. Winter is approaching.
