How to Understand This Religion book
Written by: Alaa Abdel Hamid
Number of pages: 319
Can we consider understanding religion a scientific process with clear rules? What exactly are these rules? Why do we sometimes misunderstand religion despite the existence of these rules? How do we know that we have understood religion correctly? Is there a single method of understanding, or is the field open to different opinions and interpretations? Why does the circle of understanding sometimes expand to include many opinions, while at other times it narrows to exclude certain ideas? Are these differences considered different forms of the same religion?
When we read the Quran, should we take it literally, or focus on its basic meanings and objectives? Are these objectives so clear that we can always refer to them, or is our understanding of them influenced by extraneous ideas or external concepts? Does the passage of time affect the way we understand and interpret religion?
